Overhead door

Overhead doors are a type of door that operates by sliding the door body up to the ceiling to open or close. These doors are commonly used in warehouses for the import and export of goods, as they help ensure factory safety, prevent insects and dust, and prevent heat loss.

1. Learn about Overhead doors

1.1 Concepts

In this section, we will discuss the concept of Overhead doors. Unlike conventional door systems, Overhead doors do not use rollers. Instead, they operate by sliding up and down on a rail towards the ceiling. This creates a closed space, similar to other types of rolling doors. However, in areas with low ceilings or narrow spaces, traditional roller doors or doors that open and close may not be suitable. In these situations, Overhead doors are the optimal choice.

How Overhead doors work

1.2 Uses of Overhead doors

  • To prevent cold air loss, our doors are made with a core of PU material that has excellent heat insulation properties. This creates a barrier that prevents outside heat from entering and repels cold air when it comes into contact with the door surface. Additionally, our automatic mode shortens the door’s opening and closing time, effectively reducing the amount of cold air that can enter production areas and factories.
  • Our doors are designed to prevent insects and dust from entering. The thick, sturdy panels create a solid wall, and when combined with the automatic opening and closing mode, they provide an optimal solution for keeping out unwanted pests and debris.
  • Our doors are also designed to safeguard goods and production areas. Made from 50mm thick panels coated with aluminum corrugated iron on both sides, our doors are extremely sturdy and durable. This makes them resistant to damage from impact, ensuring the security of goods and production areas from intruders and intentional sabotage.
  • Our overhead doors also have soundproofing properties, with a sound absorption coefficient of up to 0.42. This effectively reduces noise levels, creating a quieter and more productive environment.
  • Our overhead doors are designed to withstand strong winds, with the ability to block wind level 12 and a wind efficiency of 3.5KPA, reaching 6 GB. This is equivalent to a speed of 32.7m/s – 36.9 m/s, making our doors highly resistant to extreme weather conditions.
  •  In addition to their other features, our doors are also fireproof. The PU material used in the core of the door body has excellent insulation properties, not only preventing cold air loss but also helping to prevent the spread of fire in the installation area. This provides added protection for goods inside, reducing the risk of fire damage.

3. Operating principle of overhead doors

To open the door, turn on the switch at the control cabinet. At that time, the motor receives commands and controls the rollers connected to the door body, through the roller hinge, moving on the guide rail (curved) upward. After sliding the guide rail all the way, the door will lie parallel to the ceiling on the horizontal rail. To close the door, simply turn off the switch on the control panel and the door will reverse its operations in the same order as when it was opened.

4. Advantages

4.1 Space-saving design

Unlike conventional door systems, our door slides up to the ceiling when opened and does not require rollers. This means it takes up minimal space in warehouses or production areas, making it a great solution for places with low, narrow entrances where other door systems cannot be installed.

4.2 Automation

Our door is equipped with automatic sensor devices such as magic eyes and radar systems. These devices connect to the control panel and will open the door when they detect people or objects in a certain area. This eliminates the need for someone else to control the door.

4.3 Flexibility

Similar to quick-rolling doors, our ceiling sliding doors can change direction if they detect objects blocking their path. This helps ensure the safety of workers and goods.

4.4 Safety and durability

Our doors are made of high-strength aluminum alloy, making them impact-resistant, resistant to high winds, and anti-rust.

4.5 Strict production standards

Our doors are designed to prevent cold air loss, as well as keep insects and dust from entering. These features make our standard ceiling sliding doors a trusted choice for many factories and production areas.
